Frank Ramirez was born in Long Beach, California to a lower-middle class family. Moving homes often in his earlier years he and his family settled in La Mirada, California when in middle school. Frank would be first exposed to acting his sophomore year in high school. An accomplished speech and debater, Frank won his first award in acting as a California State Champion in Dramatic Duo Interpretation of Literature.
Despite Frank’s passion for acting, he walked away from his craft in 2008 not believing that, as a person of color, there was a career path for him in acting. Instead, Frank pursued a career in hospitality management. After a decade of work, Frank decided to return to his artistry, enrolling in graduate school and continuing his acting training.
Since his return to acting in 2020, Frank has already been awarded The Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship twice, The Mark Twain Scholarship for Best Comedic Performance (2021), and the National Partners of American Theatre Scholarship for Classical Acting (2023) by The John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, a national honor. Frank graduated in May (2023) with a Master of Fine Arts in Television, Film and Theatre (performance) from California State University Los Angeles. He currently lives in Long Beach, California with his husband and six pet birds.
